The backstory.
It has been a strange few months lately as I have sadly had to take time to shut down a lot of the things I have loved doing in the small press world over the last few years, such as my children’s publishing house Fair Spark Books and my small press marketplace. Buy Small Press.
However the free time I have now accumulated outside of all the house DIY I now find myself finally doing has allowed me to explore further the ideas I was printing in an all ages magazine called The Spark. Which at the time I was calling The Spark Universe.
Ever since I can remember I have been obsessed with science fiction books, movies, TV series, audio books and comics. You name the medium and I have probably used it, and by the nature of this I have been jotting down story ideas and dreaming out whole episodes of scenarios in my head. I have even attempted to draw some in the past and may do again in the future.
Alongside Dan Harris who is the artist on my current book ‘Shadows’ I have been able to finally bring some of those characters, creatures and worlds into a physical form.
I will be working alongside Dan and some other artists to bring this world into life even further as I explore the stories, origins and adventures within in the universe.
This newsletter will be that journey and I am glad to have you with me along for the ride. I am also open for any critiques, ideas etc so feel free to email me in response to anything you read. After all I need you all to enjoy this as much as I do in my head.
